FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The homeless in Fayetteville will get a free meal from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and can sign up for the opportunity for future, temporary work.
M.A.D. Moving Co., also known as Movers At Demand, is organizing the meal giveaway, which will take place at the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 6018, 116 Chance St.
Darren Parker, a co-owner in the moving company, said the company’s charitable foundation has offered the meal before as a way to give back to the community.
Others can donate clothes and toys for the homeless during the event.
New this year, he said, will be the option for the homeless to sign a list and provide their contact information. That list will be distributed to other employers who may be needing some temporary workers.
